Heating film – principle of operation, types of application

The heating foil is a thin and flexible infrared electric heater that comes in a variety of widths and heating powers. The main carrier of heat and infrared in the heating foil is a mixture of graphite, the density and proportions of which provide the appropriate heating power.

Heating foils are mainly used for underfloor and wall heating in single-family houses, apartments, offices, public buildings and warehouses. Heating foils are also used as a source of heat in industrial solutions or many other individual heating projects, where high heating precision, heating speed, heating area, flexibility of the radiator and safety of use count.

Underfloor heating with heating foils can be used as the primary source for heating rooms as well as provide additional  heating for the comfort of a warm floor. The entire heating system is very easy to install and can be used at any stage of renovation or in newly designed buildings.

Principles of operation of the heating film

The heating foil is an electric heater with a graphite heater, which under the influence of electric resistance generates heat in the form of long infrared radiation. The generated heat from the heating foil in the form of infrared heats the objects in contact with it or within the radiation range. In the underfloor heating of rooms, the heating foil heats up the floor, walls, ceiling along with other objects in its vicinity, which give their heat to the air during the heating process. The long infrared emitted from the heating foil can be compared to the action of sunlight, which, like the heating foil, warms people and objects within the infrared range.

Heating with long infrared is applicable in any heating installation with the use of a heating foil, and the heating process of a given room or facility depends on the location of the heating foil in the installation and the appropriately selected power of the heating foil to the prevailing conditions and the need for the heating effect.
